N Building is a commercial structure located near Tachikawa station amidst a shopping district. Being a commercial building signs or billboards are typically attached to its facade which they feel undermines the structures’ identity. The solution was using QR code to “augment” additional information upon the building, with new digital media technology empowered by iPhone.

N Building é uma prédio comercial localizado perto da estação de Tachikawa em Tóquio. Sendo um edifício comercial, outdoors e outros tipos de publicidade são normalmente associados à sua fachada enfraquecendo e poluindo a identidade da estrutura do prédio “. A solução foi usar QR code para “aumentar” informações adicionais sobre o edifício, uma tecnologia de mídia digital, através do iPhone.

Sniff

“Sniff” is an interactive projection in a storefront window. As the viewer walks by the projection, movements are tracked by a custom computer vision system. A CG dog comes up in the projection and sniffs you, following you as you moves in front of the display and trying to get you to play with it. “Sniff” is a really awesome and creative work by Karolina Sobecka. Check more of her works at her site. I suggest take a look at “Wildlife”, another interesting work with projection.

“Sniff” é uma projeção interativa na fachada de uma loja. Conforme o espectador caminha pela projeção, seus movimentos são rastreados por um sistema de visão computadorizada. Um cão em CG aparece na projeção para cheira-lo, segui-lo conforme seu movimento na frente da tela e tentando levá-lo a interagir com ele. Sniff é um trabalho impressionante e muito criativo feito por Karolina Sobecka. Confira mais trabalhos em seu site. Helicopter Boyz in Yomiuri Land

Some time ago, Nikon launched a new camera with a built-in projector, the Coolpix S1000pj. GT Tokyo strapped some of these cameras onto the Helicopter Boyz and let them take some pictures. The Boyz then did their live dance performance at Yomiuri Land with the cameras still strapped onto them. Great stuff!

Algum tempo atrás, a Nikon lançou uma nova câmera com a função de projetor embutido, Coolpix S1000pj. GT Tokyo prendeu algumas dessas câmeras nos “Helicopter Boyz” e deixaram eles tirarem algumas fotos. Em seguida, eles fizeram sua performance de dança ao vivo no Yomiuri Land com as câmeras ainda presos a eles projetando as fotos.

Little People :: Slinkachu

“Little People Project” is both a street art installation project and a photography project. It started in 2006 by Slinkachu and involves the remodelling and painting of miniature characters, placed on the street. In the scenes and the titles he give these scenes aim to reflect the loneliness and melancholy of living in a big city, almost being lost and overwhelmed. But underneath this, there is always some humour.

Slinkachu has a legion of fans and be able to find and shoot his art has become a very desirable trophy for his followers. So if you are in London look around because you can be lucky.

In 2008 he started another project called “Inner City Snail” Project, involving the decoration of snails that he finds around London.

“Little People Project” é um projeto de instalação de street art e também de fotografia. Esse projeto começou em 2006 por Slinkachu. Envolve a remodelação e pintura de personagens em miniatura colocados na rua. As cenas e o título têm por objetivo refletir a solidão e melancolia de viver em uma cidade grande, quase perdido e oprimido. Mas por trás de tudo isso também há sempre algum humor.

Slinkachu tem uma legião de fãs. Ser capaz de encontrar e fotografar sua arte tornou-se um troféu muito desejado por seus seguidores. Portanto, se você estiver em Londres preste atenção ao seu redor, pois você pode ser o premiado.

Em 2008 ele iniciou outro projeto chamado “Inner City Snail” Project, envolvendo intervenção nos caracóis que ele encontra em Londres.

The sound before you make it

Michael Jackson had several bizarre episodes in his career, especially at the end of it. But we can’t forget that he was one of the greatest pop stars worldwide. In my opinion Michael was a very talented artist musically and also was a great dancer. Unfortunately he had lost focus on his career. And unfortunately had a tragic end.

This installation called “The sound before you make it” by David Lawrey and Jaki Middleton is from 2005 but we can consider it today as a tribute to Michael.

This is a great idea. Remixing a scene from Michael Jackson’s Thriller, this work employs the technology of the zoetrope; animating three-dimensional figures via the sequencing of movement and a strobe light to create the illusion that the disk is stationary and the zombies are dancing.

Michael Jackson teve vários episódios bizarros durante sua carreira, principalmente no fim dela. Mas não podemos esquecer que ele foi um dos grandes astros do pop mundial. Na minha opinião Michael era uma artista muito talentoso musicalmente e também dançava muito. Pena ter perdido o foco em sua carreira e ter tido um fim tão trágico.

Esta instalação chamada “The sound before you make it” de David Lawrey e Jaki Middleton é de 2005 mas serve muito bem hoje como uma homenagem ao Michael.

A idéia é muito boa. Remixando uma cena de Thriller de Michael Jackson, este trabalho emprega a tecnologia da Zoetrope, animando figuras tridimensionais através do seqüenciamento de movimentos e uma luz estroboscópica para criar a ilusão de que o disco está parado e os zumbis estão dançando.
