But as a fan of Beatles I couldn’t let pass it by. So here it is:
an awesome game trailer from Passion Pictures for Beatles version of Rock Band. Sure it goes through many style references including Pete Candeland’s Gorillaz videos, Terry Gilliam’s Monty Python days and Psyop’s Happiness Factory. No doubt serious Beatles fans will be dissecting the HD version frame by frame looking for hidden allusions, symbols and messages.

Eu sei que estou atrasado com este post. Mas como fã dos Beatles, eu não poderia deixar passar em branco. Então, aqui vai: um game trailer fantástico feito pela Passion Pictures para a versão Beatles do Rock Band. O vídeo passa por muitas referências de estilo, incluindo vídeos Pete Candeland do Gorillaz, Monty Python de Terry Gilliam, Happiness Factory da Psyop. Sem dúvida os fãs dos Beatles ficarão dissecando frame por frame a versão HD do trailer em busca de alusões, símbolos e mensagens escondidas.

But we can’t forget that he was one of the greatest pop stars worldwide. In my opinion Michael was a very talented artist musically and also was a great dancer. Unfortunately he had lost focus on his career. And unfortunately had a tragic end.

This installation called “The sound before you make it” by David Lawrey and Jaki Middleton is from 2005 but we can consider it today as a tribute to Michael.

This is a great idea. Remixing a scene from Michael Jackson’s Thriller, this work employs the technology of the zoetrope; animating three-dimensional figures via the sequencing of movement and a strobe light to create the illusion that the disk is stationary and the zombies are dancing.

Michael Jackson teve vários episódios bizarros durante sua carreira, principalmente no fim dela.  Mas não podemos esquecer que ele foi um dos grandes astros do pop mundial. Na minha opinião Michael era uma artista muito talentoso musicalmente e também dançava muito.  Pena ter perdido o foco em sua carreira e ter tido um fim tão trágico.

Esta instalação chamada “The sound before you make it” de David Lawrey e Jaki Middleton é de 2005 mas serve muito bem hoje como uma homenagem ao Michael.

A idéia é muito boa. Remixando uma cena de Thriller de Michael Jackson, este trabalho emprega a tecnologia da Zoetrope, animando figuras tridimensionais através do seqüenciamento de movimentos e uma luz estroboscópica para criar a ilusão de que o disco está parado e os zumbis estão dançando.

A great ideia from Darren Solomon. Lots of Youtube videos played simultaneously mixed by the choice of order and volume. You can play it together, some or all, start them at any time, in any order. In Bb 2.0 is a collaborative music and spoken word project conceived by Darren Solomon from Science for Girls, and developed with contributions from users.

Você pode tocar todos os vídeos juntos ou escolher somente alguns, dar play a qualquer momento e em qualquer ordem. In Bb 2.0 é um projeto coletivo de música criado por Darren Solomon de Science for Girls.

But it’s great to see the brilliant work of Yuval & Merav Nathan.
Yuval & Merav Nathan are a duo of directors who have in their curriculum some music videos and also some advertising films. After they have done this clip for Oren Lavie, agency Gallegos called them to do something similar for Comcast’s advertising campaign. It is worth see more works by them at their site.

Esse clipe de Oren Lavie não é novo e já tinha comentado sobre ele por aqui em outro post. Mas vale a pena ver o brilhante trabalho de Yuval & Merav Nathan.
Yuval & Merav Nathan são uma dupla de diretores que tem em seus currículos alguns vídeos musicais e também alguns trabalhos em publicidade. Aliás, depois desse clipe foram chamados pela agência Gallegos para fazer algo parecido para alguns filmes da campanha publicitária da Comcast, uma empresa americana que fornece serviços de telefonia, tv a cabo e internet.
Vale a pena espiar mais trabalhos  da dupla em seu site.

Genial o vídeo não oficial que a dupla de diretores Jul & Mat fizeram para a  música “On the Motorway” da banda Metronomy. Didn’t they have Apple iPods with their mark? Have they changed team in the transfer window? Finally, the script and direction by David OReilly and art direction by Jon Klassenque. They gave for the video music of U2 an emotional tone with several stories that intersect and happen in parallel.

Depois do comercial para o Blackberry, que foi ao estilo Coldplay/Apple, o U2 lançou o seu vídeo clipe para música “I’ll Go Crazy If I Dont’ Go Crazy Tonight” todo feito em animação. Aliás, os caras não tinham até iPod com a marca deles na Apple? Será que mudaram de time na janela de transferências? Enfim, o roteiro e direção são de David OReilly e a direção de arte é de Jon Klassenque. Os dois  dão um tom sentimental para o vídeo  do U2 com várias histórias que se cruzam acontecendo em paralelo.
