Director Jared Eberhardt has just made this film for Puma Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. Combining playful live-action with a fully illustrated set that National Forest collaborated on. This whole production is about everything in between the games we play. It’s the good stuff, without all the drama.

N Building | Augmented Reality Architecture

N Building is a commercial structure located near Tachikawa station amidst a shopping district. Being a commercial building signs or billboards are typically attached to its facade which they feel undermines the structures’ identity. The solution was using QR code to “augment” additional information upon the building, with new digital media technology empowered by iPhone.

N Building é uma prédio comercial localizado perto da estação de Tachikawa em Tóquio. Sendo um edifício comercial, outdoors e outros tipos de publicidade são normalmente associados à sua fachada enfraquecendo e poluindo a identidade da estrutura do prédio “. A solução foi usar QR code para “aumentar” informações adicionais sobre o edifício, uma tecnologia de mídia digital, através do iPhone.

And the piano below is from Instrumentube. They have an interesting channel on Youtube. Checking on Youtube you will see that the piano from Instrumentube was posted before the piano from kokokaka. Anyway, both of them did a great job with a brilliant idea.

PhoneBook :: Mobile Art Lab

Japan-based Mobile Art Lab has taken iPhone innovation in a new, more kid-friendly direction with the introduction of the PhoneBook. The software and book-like construct combination offers a child and parent the opportunity to read interactive stories or learn simple math lessons together.
The user simply loads the iPhone software up, slides the iPhone into the book holder slot and the interactive learning can begin.
The makers worked on the project under the slogan “Analog on the Digital Technology”. I think they had a brilliant idea that maybe can be extended to others areas and publics.

A Mobile Art Lab do Japão se utilizou da inovação e interatividade do iPhone e a direcionou para o público infantil com o lançamento do PhoneBook. O software + Livro fazem uma combinação que oferece, para criança e pais, a oportunidade de ler histórias interativas e aprender lições de matemática juntos.
O usuário simplesmente abre o software do iPhone, posiciona o iPhone no livro e o aprendizado interativo começa.
Os fabricantes trabalharam no projeto com o slogan “Analógico + Tecnologia Digital”. Eu acho que eles tiveram uma idéia brilhante que talvez possa ser extendida a outros domínios e públicos, também.

MINI Germany has invited the New Yorker street artist Craig KR Costello to come to Hamburg and design a MINI.KRINK is the name of his brand, that stands for highest Quality markers and ink (KR-INK) and has a great reputation among street artists as well as designers worldwide. The typical style of KRINK, the so-called KRINK dripping ink aesthetics can now be seen on a black MINI Cooper S.

Sniff

“Sniff” is an interactive projection in a storefront window. As the viewer walks by the projection, movements are tracked by a custom computer vision system. A CG dog comes up in the projection and sniffs you, following you as you moves in front of the display and trying to get you to play with it. “Sniff” is a really awesome and creative work by Karolina Sobecka. Check more of her works at her site. I suggest take a look at “Wildlife”, another interesting work with projection.

“Sniff” é uma projeção interativa na fachada de uma loja. Conforme o espectador caminha pela projeção, seus movimentos são rastreados por um sistema de visão computadorizada. Um cão em CG aparece na projeção para cheira-lo, segui-lo conforme seu movimento na frente da tela e tentando levá-lo a interagir com ele. Sniff é um trabalho impressionante e muito criativo feito por Karolina Sobecka. Confira mais trabalhos em seu site. Digital Blackbook

Oct. 2nd marked the opening of New Media New Thinking at Input / Output gallery in Hong Kong. Everyone who showed up was invited to demo the new Digital Blackbook (Graffiti Analysis 2.0) system by Evan Roth, and all of the resulting signatures will remain on display in the gallery for the length of the exhibition.

This is Yooouuutuuube, a different way of watching YouTube. It creates an amazing animated grid out of the key frames from YouTube videos. A kind of combination of the Lomography Action Sampler and YouTube gives this amazing 21st Century zoetrope effect on your desktop. It’s 80s but it’s really cool.
These frames are from “Burning Down the House” by Talking Heads.

Este é o Yooouuutuuube, um jeito diferente de ver YouTube. Ele cria um grid de animação sequencial. Uma mistura de Lomography Action Sampler com YouTube dá esse efeito Zoetrope surpreendente em seu desktop. É bem anos 80 mas é muuuito legal.

Helicopter Boyz in Yomiuri Land

Some time ago, Nikon launched a new camera with a built-in projector, the Coolpix S1000pj. GT Tokyo strapped some of these cameras onto the Helicopter Boyz and let them take some pictures. The Boyz then did their live dance performance at Yomiuri Land with the cameras still strapped onto them. Great stuff!

Algum tempo atrás, a Nikon lançou uma nova câmera com a função de projetor embutido, Coolpix S1000pj. GT Tokyo prendeu algumas dessas câmeras nos “Helicopter Boyz” e deixaram eles tirarem algumas fotos. Em seguida, eles fizeram sua performance de dança ao vivo no Yomiuri Land com as câmeras ainda presos a eles projetando as fotos.
